CARAGA supplies more than 60% of country's log demand

The region supplies about 60 to 70% of the country’s log requirement - this is according to a report published by National Economic and Development Authority CARAGA Region.
Accordingly, the region has relatively vast and adequately-stocked forest lands that put the region at the strategic advantage.
The logging industry which is a major occupation in the region has been the top income generator that earned billions of pesos in exports. This made the region the Timber Corridor of the country.

In Butuan City alone, it is estimated that more than 5,000 works for the logging industry.
